Moira celebrates BC Seniors Week by participating in the “Circuits-for-Seniors” event at Tisdall Park in Vancouver. Tisdall Park is one of eighteen parks in British Columbia with specialized outdoor recreational equipment designed to assist older adults stay mobile, physically active and healthy in their communities.
Moira shows her appreciation for a math skit performed by students of Van Tech Secondary School. The skit was part of the MITACS Show Math outreach program designed to make science and mathematics compelling to teens in high school.

A good time was had by all as Moira and several thousand participants joined the seven kilometer “Walk with the Dragon” trip around the Stanley Park sea wall. The event raised $415,000 for the S.U.C.C.E.S.S Foundation which provides immigrant settlement services, employment training, and many other programs.
Moira receives a gift from Thrangu Rinpoche, who represented the monastery, at the opening of the Thrangu Monastery in Richmond. This Monastery is the first traditional style Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Canada. Hundreds of people attended the official opening and the unveiling of the giant four metre tall golden Buddha, the focal point of the monastery's shrine room.

Moira joined friends and other elected officials to participate in the first national Walk to Fight Arthritis. As a physician Moira knows how devastating the disease can be. More than 300 walkers raised more than $45,000 to support the Arthritis Society’s work in BC and Yukon.

Moira joined Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Jason Kenney and Lubavitch Director Rabbi Yitzchok Wineberg to announce an exciting renovation to the Lubavitch Centre. The governments of Canada, B.C. and Lubavitch of B.C. will each be contributing a third of the $1.9 million project.
Dr. Stilwell joined Prime Minister Stephen Harper to announce an additional $64 million for post-secondary renewal across British Columbia. Phase two of the Knowledge Infrastructure Program, a federal-provincial partnership, will see 11 new public post-secondary infrastructure projects across the province to help stimulate the economy, create jobs and support continued growth.
